RCC Coaching Announcement for Season 2020/21
Reynella Cricket Club Coaching Announcement
The Reynella Cricket Club is pleased to announce our coaching group for Season 2020-21.
This season we have taken a different approach to coaching by appointing a well-balanced group of experienced cricketers with great coaching credentials who we feel will be best placed to provide excellence in coaching for our playing group.
We are excited to announce that Paul Radbourne will be our senior coach for season 2020/21.
Paul has represented the Reynella Cricket Club across all grades for over 20 years. Paul has excellent communication skills, brings attention to detail, commitment to the development of all players across all grades and has an excellent eye for strategic and technical development.
Paul is a life member, former A Grade Premiership captain, State indoor representative and experienced development coach. Paul will be responsible for setting and maintaining training standards, will chair selection and strategy and will lead our coaching group.
Supporting Paul in the role will be assistant coaches who will look after specific skill sets. We are excited to announce our development coaches as follows;
John Hopkins - Batting Coach.
John Hopkins brings a huge amount of experience to the role, including 5 years as an A Grade district player, State second X1 representative, and 23 Years of A grade cricket experience at the Reynella Cricket Club including 4 Years as Captain. John has excellent coaching experience with 4 years as Reynella CC head coach and a year as a development coach at Glenelg CC.
John will be bringing a philosophy of working with our players strengths to improve both the mental and physical aspects of batting.
Darrin Wright – Bowling Coach
Darrin brings 15 years of experience, playing a mix of turf and hard wicket across A, B and C grade, all as an opening bowler. Darrin will be working with our bowling group to work not only on technical aspects but to work on bowling approach and team bowling for match days.
Darrin’s philosophy this season will be to get more out of bowlers strengths, technically improve areas where better control is needed and take a planned approach to bowling spells.
Michael Maney – Slow Bowling & Allrounder Coach
Mike brings 18 years of playing 1st grade cricket as an allrounder, including time within the Tasmanian state squad. Mike has extensive coaching experience having coached Devonport and Launceston District Cricket Clubs and holds a Level 2 Coaching Certificate.
Mike has a philosophy to work with our playing group to give regular feedback, encourage enjoyment and work on strengths.
Richard Gabb – Strategy and Culture
Richard Gabb is a Life Member, 20 year Reynella CC player, former A Grade District cricketer and State Second X1 representative. Richard holds a level 2 Coaching Certificate, has coached in SACA development, and is a former A Grade premiership captain, notably leading Reynella during our 3 successful years of winning the ATCA Spirit of Cricket Award. Richard brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and will continue to develop our club culture and psychology on and off the field by working with players in goal setting, mindfulness, strategy and performance review.
Richard is bringing a philosophy that by taking a progressive view of mindset, it will bring positive improvements to life and happiness on and off the field.
All of the coaches are proud Reynella people, and are providing a significant time commitment to our group and I couldn’t be happier with the appointments. I know that the group we have assembled will bring the best out of our group to ensure that the season ahead is successful, and that we can all develop our game and be better cricketers, on and off the field.
We look forward to kicking things off on Thursday, I can’t wait to see you all there.
